RoarOS vs Archive

Archive (archive.com) is a social listening and creator discovery platform for short-form video: it detects brand content, including untagged posts and Stories, and handles usage rights and whitelisting. Roar, built by Shortlist, tracks the posts you point it at, tags hooks and CTAs, and reports the program. RoarOS is the name many teams still search. The product is Roar.

Archive, at archive.com, is a social listening and creator discovery platform for short-form video. It is built to capture content about a brand, including posts that never used the tag, and to turn that library into rights, whitelists, and a report. Roar is Shortlist's workspace for posts a team is already running. Teams still search the old name, RoarOS. The product is Roar, at shortlistos.com/roar. roaros.com redirects there.

Roar is Shortlist's AI marketing toolkit: a workspace that tracks creator posts across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, sources creators into shortlists, tags hooks and CTAs, automates campaign reporting, and connects to AI agents like Claude, Cursor, and Codex over MCP.

What Archive is for

Archive's own description is a listening product that also sources creators and clears content for reuse. The jobs it names: detect posts even without a tag, catch Stories, rank people who already mention the brand, request usage rights, whitelist for ads, and report what to scale. The library is "everything said about us," not "the twelve creators we briefed this month."

That is the right tool when unknown posts are the risk: a creator filmed the product and never tagged you, a Story expired before anyone screenshotted it, or legal will not run a spark ad until the rights status is in the library.

What Roar is for

Roar does not try to find every untagged mention. You point it at a post or a handle. It tracks views, likes, comments, shares, and engagement across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, tags the hook and the CTA, and alerts when a post crosses the counts you set. The agent answers from that set of posts. It can also source creators into a shortlist. It does not pay them, schedule them, or DM them a rights request.

The program ledger is the point. On Linkme, Roar held the Creator Program apart from the wider workspace: eight creators, about 138 to 140 posts a week, an alert the same day content moved. A listening library of every mention would have answered a different question.

Roar does not track installs or sales. Those stay with the brand.

If you are looking for an Archive alternative in 2026

  • You are missing posts you never knew existed. That is listening. Archive is in that category. Roar will not claim to replace it.
  • You know the posts, and the failure is the weekly read. Which hook, which creator, what to put spend behind today. Roar is that read.
  • You need rights before an ad. Keep a rights tool or a contract. Roar stores the performance of a URL. It does not store a permission.

Roar on its own is free for 7 days, then Individual is $249 a month (250 tracked posts, 200 AI credits a day) and Pro is $749 a month (1,000 tracked posts, 400 AI credits a day). Enterprise is priced on a call. A brand on a Shortlist program gets the workspace with the offer. Prices are in US dollars on Roar pricing.

What this page will not claim

Shortlist has not run a tracked comparison against Archive, and it does not quote Archive's detection rate or price. "Untagged" and "Stories" above are Archive's product claims, not measurements Shortlist has reproduced. Roar's numbers are the ones on Linkme, Wishlist, and AZVA.

Frequently asked

Is Roar an Archive alternative?
For social listening and usage rights, no. Archive is built to find content about a brand, including posts that never tagged it, and to request permission to reuse it. Roar tracks posts you already know about and reads how they performed.
Does Roar detect untagged Stories or request usage rights?
No. Roar does not crawl the internet for untagged product appearances, and it does not send usage-rights requests or manage whitelisting. You add posts by URL or handle.
How much does Roar cost?
Free for 7 days, then Individual is $249 a month and Pro is $749 a month. Enterprise is priced on a call. Archive's plans are on Archive's site.
